Magnetic poly(lactic acid) particles  

  • consist of magnetite (40% w/w) in a matrix of poly(D,L-lactic acid) with a molecular weight of 17.000 Da,

  • are available with mean diameters of 30 µm and 100 µm,

  • are established in the field of magnetic drug targeting in connection with a controlled drug release (The half-life time of the beads under in-vivo conditions mainly depends on the molecular weight of the polymers and increases with the molecular weight of the polymer.),

  • can also be offered with carboxylic acid or amino groups on the surface,

  • can be loaded with drugs on request.
